Welcome in the Fall! The air is crisp and change is happening, the leaves will tell us soon enough. Let’s embrace it by taking deeper breaths when we go outside and enjoying the comfort of our warm autumn sweaters.
From Monday, Sept 19 til Monday Sept 26th, I will be in New Haven, CT attending a Continuing Education Training for Forrest Yoga Teachers, where I will be learning tools for Effective Coaching & Teaching. I am so looking forward to this opportunity to grow and learn from my Forrest Yoga teachers, and bring it all back to you. While I am away, my lovely teacher trainees will be covering my classes. Please check the schedule to find out who is teaching and when.

Nothing has changed my life as much as my yoga practice. I began practicing with Paula as my teacher at Yoga Joy a year ago with an intent that was centered mostly around losing weight, toning up, and feeling better about my body. Using Forrest Yoga, Paula has taught me how to breathe. Before the 4×4 Challenge this past summer, I would go through my day with a clenched jaw and strained face, blocking deep breaths. Now I practice regularly and value the time I spend on my mat. The strength I have gained doing yoga has moved into my entire life

I attended a class taught by Paula and it was awesome! Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable and patient, she is also an excellent teacher who takes the time with each student, while smoothly leading the entire class through a variety of postures. I have been to yoga classes all over the world, and this was truly an excellent experience and makes the top of my list! I strongly recommend Yoga Joy to people who are new to yoga as well as to those who have been practicing yoga for decades.
In October of 2014, I stumbled into Yoga Joy just out of pure chance… and it has changed my life. I’m an avid proponent of working out and staying in shape. Running, spinning, lifting weights, I craved the physical fitness and the emotional release. After a couple of classes at Yoga Joy, I realized that it was all I needed and never looked back. Finding a workout that was more healing and less grinding on my body was only the beginning. I experience a connection with my inner self that I had never discovered before. This is truly a special place.
Paula is so gifted. I just finished her level 2-3 Forrest Yoga class on soundcloud.com. As a yoga instructor myself, I am totally inspired and I hope to achieve the clarity of instruction she has. I haven’t had an emotional release like that since the Advanced Teacher Training I attended in Sept ’14. I now know for certain I carry so many emotional insecurities in my hips. Wow. So thankful. I really appreciate Paula’s teachings. It’s rare, for me, to find a class where the sequencing is that powerful. Paula is one of the best yoga teachers. Period. Like up there with Ana Forrest.
I am a drummer, and in my drumming, I’ve started starting doing that I call yoga drumming…deep breathing, keeping my shoulders even shoulder blades sliding down my back, chest up etc, tailbone curled, etc. Several people said that they noticed that I was sitting up more straight. One person even indicated that they noticed that I was breathing differently. Everyone said that I looked totally in control, which I felt as well. I’m grateful for Paula for opening me up to yoga which has changed my approach to drumming. In fact it’s changed my approach to a lot of aspects of my life, in general, in a really positive manner.
