What are you unconsciously carrying that holds you back in your life?
My practice with others and for myself is entirely in the realm of healing the Spirit.
I received specialized training and conducted research in the arena of feminist psychoanalysis, mindfulness meditation, movement therapy and trauma recovery. Ready to serve through psychotherapy, I graduated from Smith College with a Master’s in Social Work and earned my License in Social Work. I dove deep into mental health. Watching people let their true selves emerge made me yearn to teach the embodiment I felt when I practiced yoga: teaching people how to not just talk the talk but walk the walk. I found out about the power healer/yoga/medicine woman teacher, Ana Forrest, and got my yoga teacher certification from her 200HR Forrest Foundation Yoga Teacher Training. I left my full time Social Worker job in San Francisco and opened up the first Yoga Joy studio in Gloucester, Ma. Diving in to my passion again, I taught, on average, 24 public and private classes a week for 2 years. I observed and witnessed healing on multiple levels within myself and within the people who showed up in my classes.
I served with my whole heart:
- Trauma survivors
- People battling issues of empowerment
- People battling issues of anxiety and depression
- People carrying around other peoples grief
- People struggling with addiction
- Men and women who faced near death experiences
- Survivors of severe physical, emotional, and sexual pain
- Survivors of attempted suicide
Every single person I served gave me a world of compassion and understanding that I can feel much more authentically than I could possibly articulate.
They have also brought me to realizing my greatest joy and purpose: serving the person who desires to claim her body, mind, and Spirit, for herself. My work is kryptonite for this person who dares to live outside of fear and shame, and claim the joy in her body that is RIGHTFULLY theirs.
I work with men and women by guiding them into reclaiming the homes inside of their bodies where their spirit is living, breathing, and waiting for them to recognize and love him or her. To do this, I weave together yoga, psychotherapy, energy work, massage assists and complete joy into our sessions.
Every day I wake up and bear witness to a beautiful Spirit as they uncover just how amazing they truly are.
It is AWESOME.
I am here for to you, the person who is ready to find their shimmering spirit. You will learn self-soothing techniques which will transform your physical, emotional, and spiritual health: with lots of laughter, some tears, and a healthy amount of fear stalking.
